Platform Update: Show the Love Ratings and Reviews

Platform Update: Heart Ratings and Reviews

There’s nothing better than having a magical night at a live show. Now a little piece of that magic lives on your Side Door profile. Heart Ratings and Reviews of your shows (both as an artist and host) are now publicly available on Side Door to help enhance the profile's quality and provide insight for those looking to book shows. In addition, they can be an invaluable source of feedback or a crisp internet high-five.

How it works:

After the show, ticket holders and show creators (artists and hosts) will receive an email from Side Door requesting Ratings and Reviews on their experience.

Artists and Hosts can rate each other out of 5 hearts; additionally, an audience member can rate the Artist and Host separately on the 5-heart scale.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Art elicits an emotional response, so here’s your chance to show us how much the performance made you feel!

These ratings are a quick way to give feedback, will average over time, and will publicly display below the host and artist profile name.

In this example, the artist Terra Lightfoot has received 53 ratings and has an average rating of 4.77 hearts out of 5.

In the text box, you can leave a Review about your show experience. Reviews are the most helpful when they offer some insight. For audience members, share something that reflects your experience at the show. For artists and hosts, it's useful to talk about how well you worked together to make the show happen. Acknowledge experience level and intentions to make the feedback constructive.

Artists and hosts will see each other’s reviews and those from audience members, but they will only be public if the artist or host chooses to feature that review on their profile.

How to Feature a review

Just love a favorable review? Here’s how you can feature it on your profile:

  • Head over to Profile > Edit Profile to get started.

  • Then go to Manage Reviews (this only appears if you have reviews from previous shows). You can search or scroll for a review you’d like to feature.

  • Click on the desired review and say Yes when prompted to confirm.

  • You can change your featured review at any time. If there is more than one that you’d like to highlight, add them to your description in your profile.

If you have confidential feedback for Side Door only, a text box is available to submit directly to us or feel free to email us at support@sidedooraccess.com. Your fellow show creator will not see this feedback.

Privacy notes for audience members

While the host and artist can see all their ratings and reviews, they will only see who submitted them if that person has an artist or host profile; in that case, the audience user account name will appear. Otherwise, they will look like this:

Review and Ratings examples

Since reviews are not automatically published, they will only be visible to the public should the Artist or Host select them to be featured.

Your heart rating (❤️) will be public only as part of that person’s average rating.

Are reviews moderated?

Side Door doesn’t moderate reviews before they are visible to the profile owner; reviews are encouraged to be unbiased and transparent but should abide by our community guidelines

So what are you waiting for? There’s no better time than the present to log into your Side Door account because some ratings and reviews may be waiting for you. Happy reviewing!
